D’gusta Tavira: Lively Sharing Tapas Worth Booking Ahead

D’gusta is a favorite for anyone in Tavira craving a fun, sociable meal built around sharing. While it’s often described as a tapas restaurant, expect something more generous than tiny bites: plates are designed for the table, making it ideal for couples, families, and groups who want to sample a little of everything.

The atmosphere is one of the biggest draws—busy in the best way, with a buzzy energy that still feels comfortable. It’s lively without being too loud, so you can enjoy the crowd while still having an easy conversation. Because of its popularity, booking ahead is a smart move, especially at peak times when tables fill quickly.

On the food side, variety is part of the charm. Guests commonly build a spread with classics like black olives and fresh salads alongside heartier plates such as basmati rice, chicken skewers, and grilled fish. Everything is designed to mix and match, so you can go light and snacky or turn it into a full feast. One standout that keeps getting mentioned is the Grilled Goat Cheese Tiborna—an order that hits that perfect balance of comfort and flavor, and a great choice if you want a signature plate to anchor your table.

Service is another reason people return. The team is frequently noted as friendly and efficient, keeping the flow of shared plates organized so the meal feels relaxed rather than rushed. If you’re staying outside the center, it’s worth noting the restaurant sits a bit away from the city core, so planning your transport—especially later in the evening—can make the night smoother.

For visitors exploring the Algarve or locals looking for a dependable night out, D’gusta delivers a consistently enjoyable combination of sharing tapas, a welcoming vibe, and a menu that makes it easy to try new favorites each time you visit.

Great place on the end of a "pier" with fabulous views across the water. Did was tapas-style and very tasty indeed. Only downside was the lack of service. We had to wait for the server who took the drinks order (different person took the food order). 3 beers ordered at start of meal only arrived once we had finished the starters. Numerous enquires always lead to à realigned of"it's coming", but it didn't for a long time. If they had said we've got a problem with the beer, we would have understood. Probably the cause of the delay as lots of beers were all served at the same time. Also, no one could be bothered turning up with a credit card machine for us to pay, so had to head inside myself to pay. Bottom line - great food, great place, but don't expect attentive service, sadly

You shouldn't miss this restaurant in Tavira (+/- a 25-minute drive from Olhao). It is a beautiful tapas restaurant situated by the sea. Very atmospheric and with very friendly, English-speaking, and fast service. We ordered a delicious pitcher of Sangria along with 4 small dishes (three is enough for 2 people, by the way). We had salmon tartare, tuna tartare, and toast with goat cheese and honey. In addition, the homemade roast beef. Everything was beautifully served and every single dish was delicious. The panna cotta with forest fruits and chocolate made the evening complete! In short, we had a wonderful meal at a friendly price.

Um espaço muito agradável com uma decoração muito gira. Um serviço extremamente eficiente e simpático. Tudo o que pedimos estava excelente desde á qualidade dos produtos ao sabor terminando com o empratamento. Digno de 5🌟
