in the last weekWe had an amazing dolphin watching and coastline tour with X-Ride, and it was easily one of the best experiences of our trip to Portugal. The tour starts with a cruise along the beautiful Algarve coastline, including the famous Benagil Cave and many other stunning sea caves and rock formations. We also had about 5 minutes to swim in the ocean, which was a great bonus. The highlight of the trip was definitely seeing dolphins. We were lucky enough to watch them swimming very close to the boat, and it was an unforgettable experience. The guides were extremely professional and clearly put a lot of effort into finding dolphins for everyone on board. In my review, I've also included a photo showing all the different dolphin and whale species that can be seen on these tours. You're most likely to see dolphins, while whales are much rarer. We were told they are only spotted a few times each year. The entire tour lasts about 2.5 hours, and every minute is worth it. The price-to-quality ratio is outstanding, and I honestly think this is one of the best excursions you can book in the Algarve. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Portugal!

in the last weekMy family of four had a reservation for a boat tour. Before our scheduled departure, we visited the Praia do Carvalho cliffs (highly recommend!). When we returned to our car, we discovered it was completely blocked in by another vehicle, making it impossible for us to leave. While anxiously waiting for the driver to return, I had to hike up into town to find cell service so I could contact the company. This tour was especially meaningful to us, as each of our family members gets to choose 1 activity per trip, and this was my son’s choice. I fully understand the company’s no refund policy, and I never asked for a refund. I simply requested the possibility of rescheduling or joining a later departure due to circumstances that were entirely beyond our control. Instead, I was told (abruptly with attitude) that no changes could be made within 24 hours. We were very disappointed by the lack of flexibility, especially given that there were still available seats on the boat… so accommodating us would not have resulted in any loss of revenue for the company. Unfortunately, we were ultimately unable to rebook at an additional cost of €200, as we could not afford it. This meant my son missed out on the experience he had been most excited about. Instead, we were left feeling like once our payment was made, the customer no longer mattered. I am sharing this not to dispute policy, but to highlight how much of a difference empathy and basic customer service can make. A small amount of flexibility would have completely changed our experience for the better.
