Restaurante O Cantinho on Estr. do Farol is one of those places in Carvoeiro that instantly feels like part of your holiday story—welcoming from the first moment and full of small touches that make dinner feel special. Guests often mention the cheerful, genuinely attentive team, creating a lively, fun atmosphere that works just as well for a relaxed couple’s dinner as it does for a celebratory night out.
The menu shines with confident, comfort-meets-coastal cooking. If you’re in the mood for meat, the steak with a dark beer sauce is a standout—rich, deep, and the kind of dish you remember long after you’ve left. Lamb chops also get a lot of love, especially when paired with a glass of red wine. Seafood lovers are equally spoiled here: expect beautifully cooked sea bass fillets, crowd-pleasing seafood skewers, and plates where the freshness really comes through. Many diners also rave about the prawns—generous portions with a bold beer sauce that hits the sweet spot between indulgent and balanced.
What sets O Cantinho apart is how it combines hearty Algarve flavor with thoughtful presentation. A complimentary welcome drink (often a peach wine) adds a friendly “you’re in good hands” start to the evening, and the kitchen keeps the standard high from starters to dessert. The goat’s cheese starter is frequently described as a must-order, and if you have room, finish with something sweet like the passion fruit tart for a bright, tropical endnote.
For visitors staying nearby or anyone planning a night along the Farol road, this is a reliable choice for fresh seafood, well-executed classics, and a genuinely friendly atmosphere—the kind of place you’ll want to return to before your trip ends.

in the last weekGreat place to eat. We ordered a sirloin steak with pepper sauce and a ribeye with ham. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful, absolutely delicious. The service was also excellent. They bring you a complimentary glass at the beginning of the meal, in our case champagne with peach juice, which was very nice. At the end of the meal, they also have a custom of offering a complimentary glass of Port or Limoncello. The price might seem a bit high, but the food is well worth it.

in the last weekGood food, but; Quite a long wait for food, we were sitting for 45 minutes waiting for food. Slow service, we came with a small child and a high chair was not brought until we had to ask for it ourselves. The food does not make up for the lack of service and waiting time

in the last weekThe perfect way to end our trip to Portugal. We went with a larger group of friends and ordered across the menu: the “Tuna on the Stone” from the daily specials, four orders of “Steak on the Stone,” one “Steak in Dark Beer Sauce,” and the “Crispy Skin Salmon Loin.” Every single dish was excellent, fresh, spot on in flavor, and there was truly something for everyone. The wait was a bit longer, no question. But right as we were about to ask what was going on, the food arrived, perfect timing. And the wait flew by anyway because the staff were incredibly entertaining. They kept joking around with us the whole time, we laughed a lot, and the mood at the table stayed great throughout. Given the price to quality ratio, the food quality, and the service, I would give this place 6 out of 5 stars if I could. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. This meal was the perfect way to round off our last day of vacation.
