Right on the sand in Alvor, 5 Quinas is the kind of beachfront restaurant that turns a simple meal into a highlight of your trip. The setting does a lot of the work—ocean views, salty air, and a front-row seat for sunset—but what keeps people coming back is the warm, genuinely attentive service and the feeling that you’re being looked after without any fuss.
Whether you’re stopping in for dinner and returning the next day for lunch (which many people do), the experience stays consistent: friendly staff, a relaxed pace, and food that’s satisfying in both flavor and portion size. It’s an ideal spot when you’re properly hungry after a beach day, because plates tend to be generous and the menu leans into fresh, coastal favorites.
Seafood is the obvious move here. Guests rave about the fresh fish, often describing it as buttery and beautifully cooked—simple, unfussy preparation that lets quality ingredients shine. If you like starting with something classic, the shrimp cocktail is frequently called a must-try, and it’s exactly the sort of seaside starter that feels right with a view of the water.
One of the best things about 5 Quinas is how flexible it feels. You can dine inside for shade and comfort or go alfresco to soak up the beach atmosphere. Either way, the restaurant’s location makes it easy to linger—order another drink, share a few plates, and let the sky do its thing as the sun drops toward the ocean.
Because tables can fill up quickly thanks to the prime location, planning ahead is a smart idea—especially if you want a specific time around sunset. For anyone searching for a beachfront restaurant in Alvor with memorable views, fair value, and a team that greets you with a real smile, 5 Quinas is an easy recommendation.

in the last weekLocated right on the beach promenade with a fantastic view of the sea. Always good service and good food, both at lunch and dinner. Coffee also available to go. Highly recommended. 👍

a week agoThe food was very good; the rice with razor clams, which was meant for two, could easily feed four, and the chicken skewer was delicious. My little one ordered spaghetti carbonara, which he loved. The red sangria was very, very tasty. The waiter was very friendly.

a week agoWe booked for lunch, and the food was spectacular. We ordered razor clam rice for two, but the casserole dish is for four, so they packed up the leftovers for us to take away. The waiter was incredibly friendly. My daughters missed out on the chicken kebab, which was also very good, and the spaghetti carbonara was delicious. The red sangria was the best I've ever had.
