Latitude is the kind of place in Luz that turns a simple meal into an evening you’ll want to repeat. With a beautifully tasteful interior and a warm, upbeat feel, this bar and restaurant is ideal for lingering over shared plates—whether you’re out as a couple, with friends, or bringing the family along.
The menu shines with tapas in Luz that feel both generous and carefully made. Many diners come specifically to share a spread, and it’s easy to see why: the calamari is frequently described as the best people have ever had, the mussels arrive full of flavor, and the beef with truffle mash is a clear highlight—rich, comforting, and memorable. If you like exploring the menu, it’s the perfect spot to order a few dishes each and build your own tasting-style dinner.
There are plenty of other must-try plates too. The tuna tartare is a fresh, clean start, while heartier options like gnocchi with wild boar and slow-cooked beef cheeks bring depth and warmth—especially satisfying after a beach day. Save room for dessert if you can: the apple strudel has a reputation for ending the meal on a high note.
What really ties it all together is the hospitality. The staff are known for being genuinely friendly and welcoming, with attentive service that makes guests of all ages feel comfortable (even little ones). Portions are satisfying, pacing is relaxed, and the overall vibe is polished without feeling formal.
If you’re looking for a reliable place to eat well, sip something refreshing, and settle into a great atmosphere, Latitude is an easy recommendation—one that tends to become a “we’ll definitely be back” favorite.

in the last weekExcellent restaurant with interesting and excellent tapas. We had boar gnocchi, steak on truffled mash, leak and mushrooms and veg. Great service, staff and one of the best meals we've had in Portugal!

in the last weekWithout a doubt, the best restaurant in Praia da Luz. We were greeted by Carlos, who is an excellent host. The entire team is also very good. There were six of us, and we ordered 18 tapas plus delicious olives and the incredible pata negra ham. All the tapas were fabulous and generous. The tuna tartare, wild boar gnocchi, calf's liver, beef cheek, octopus, etc. Every plate was emptied. Accompanied by excellent cocktails and a vinho verde, the meal was perfect. Bravo to the whole team!
