a week agoFor many years, dining at this restaurant has been one of the highlights of our summer holidays. We have visited every single year, and it became a tradition for our family. That is why it is so disappointing to see the level of service decline. During our last visit, several aspects fell well below the standards expected from a restaurant in a five-star hotel. Dishes containing spicy ingredients were neither indicated on the menu nor mentioned by the staff. In addition, the storytelling and explanations that once made the dining experience so special were completely absent. Even for returning guests, that personal touch is an essential part of the experience. Rather than posting a public review last year, I chose to share my feedback directly with the hotel, hoping it would help improve things. I appreciated that the hotel director personally suggested a cocktail. Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, we were never able to meet. Despite our previous disappointment, we decided to give the restaurant another chance this year. We made our reservation as early as March for an late July visit, only to receive a cancellation one month before the reservation date. When we called, we were told that someone would contact us with an alternative booking option. That call never came. In a hotel of this standard, guests should not have to chase a replacement reservation after the hotel cancels. A proactive solution should have been offered immediately. To make matters worse, we also contacted the hotel to book the cocktail and have yet to receive any response. This entire experience has been extremely disappointing. What was once an annual tradition has turned into a series of frustrations, marked by poor communication and customer service.

2 weeks agoOne of the best dining experiences we have ever had, if not the best. Every staff member we encountered was SO kind! Every drink, dish, and dessert was divine. And the setting - so beautiful. We were lucky to have a spectacular sunset. When we return to Portugal we would absolutely come back! Thank you!

a month agoWOW… where do I even begin? We made a reservation for a very special evening, and from my very first call, Marieta went above and beyond. She patiently answered all my questions and shared so much information to ensure our night would be absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived at the property, the hospitality was exceptional. The wonderful lady who welcomed us in the buggy (I wish I remembered her name) set the tone for what became an unforgettable experience. The entire evening was flawless. As I have a seafood allergy, the team thoughtfully prepared a beautiful piece of Wagyu especially for me, cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce and served with sautéed asparagus. Every dish we ordered was outstanding, the cocktails were incredible, and the champagne selection was curated beautifully. A very special thank you to Candy and Pedro for taking such wonderful care of us. It’s people like you who transform a delicious meal into a truly memorable experience. This was easily one of the top three dining experiences of our lives. I will never forget this evening and will always be grateful for the kindness, attention, and care you showed us. We will absolutely be back soon to stay and enjoy the full experience. With heartfelt thanks.
