The Meat House is a go-to option in Albufeira when you’re craving a proper steakhouse experience—more polished than the typical “steak on every menu” spots. The setting feels slightly upmarket, with quality fixtures and an ambience that suits a special dinner, date night, or a treat-yourself meal after a day in the sun. If you can, grab a table on the outside balcony for a great view and a relaxed evening breeze.
The food is built around what you’d hope for from a dedicated meat-focused restaurant. The mixed grill for two is a popular choice when you want to try a bit of everything, and the fillet steak is frequently praised for flavour and presentation. If you’re the type who loves a twist on the classics, options like sirloin with Roquefort deliver that rich, indulgent edge, often served with vegetables and sides that round out the plate nicely. Even beyond beef, dishes like duck à l’orange add variety for mixed groups, making this more than just a one-note steak stop.
Service is a strong part of the experience, with attentive staff who guide guests toward smart picks and keep the meal running smoothly—even on busy nights. There’s also a sense that the restaurant is well managed, with a hands-on approach that makes diners feel checked in on. Pair your meal with a glass of house red and settle in for a satisfying, well-paced dinner. For anyone searching for a quality steakhouse in Albufeira with excellent cooking, professional service, and a refined atmosphere, The Meat House is an easy recommendation.

2 weeks agoOverall, the food was very good and definitely the strongest part of our experience. I had the Portuguese-style steak and really enjoyed it: tasty, well prepared and exactly what I expected. The tomato soup was excellent and probably the best value-for-money dish we ordered. Very generous, delicious and around €5–6. We also tried the pesto linguine, which were very good and tasted fresh, although around €20 for pesto pasta still felt quite expensive. The mac and cheese was the only dish we personally did not enjoy, as it tasted much more creamy than cheesy, but this may simply be a matter of personal taste. The bread selection was disappointing in terms of value. For around €4–5, we expected more variety, but received only two very small bread rolls. They were warm and fresh, and both the butter and olive pâté were very good, but the portion still felt quite limited for the price. A small detail we liked was the Coca-Cola Zero, which came in a beautiful larger glass bottle rather than the usual small one. It matched the polished feeling of the restaurant. The main issue for us was the service speed. We had a reservation and were seated immediately, but then waited around 20–30 minutes before anyone came to take our order, despite staff regularly passing by. Once ordered, the food arrived quickly, so the kitchen was not the problem. After finishing, we then waited another 10–15 minutes before eventually going to the counter ourselves. The restaurant was not completely full, which made these delays harder to understand. A very special mention goes to the lady who welcomed us. She was genuinely wonderful: warm, friendly, kind and extremely approachable. We chatted with her for a while, she made us feel truly welcome and even offered us limoncello at the end, which I had to decline because I was driving. Five stars for her hospitality alone. The restaurant itself is beautiful, well maintained and has a refined, slightly premium atmosphere. The bathrooms were also spacious and clean. This is really the reason behind the three-star rating: the restaurant presents itself as a more premium experience, and with that come higher expectations. The food itself was very good, but at this price level, service, waiting times and value for money matter much more. So this is absolutely not a bad restaurant. Quite the opposite. But compared with the standard the place communicates, the overall experience did not fully match our expectations. With more attentive service and slightly better value on a few items, this could easily be a four- or five-star experience.

2 weeks agoHonestly a bit pricey but wasn’t an issue, it was soooo good I absolutely loved it devoured two plates even tho servings weren’t too small, and will think about it for ever must try. Also the serves were so kind and great.

3 weeks agoThe concierge was extremely friendly and helpful. The waiting staff wasn’t great, they ignore you etc… The food wasn’t great, the stuffed mushroom were the worst, the mince meat looked raw and wasn’t touched. My friends liked their steaks. The Caesar salad was ok, served with iceberg lettuce and an extremely small portion of chicken.
