Seaside Cocktails, Patio Views & Easy-Going Bites in Albufeira

Slightly expensive on R. Ramalho Ortigão is a memorable stop in Albufeira for anyone who wants great food and drinks with a serious ocean backdrop. The setting is the main draw: a beautiful, wave-facing view paired with a huge covered patio, so you can settle in comfortably even when the weather shifts. It’s an ideal spot for an afternoon break, sunset cocktails, or a casual meal with the sound of the sea in the background.

This is the kind of place where you can come just for drinks—or easily stay for lunch and end up ordering dessert. The cocktail list offers plenty of variety, and the sangria branca is a favourite for good reason: crisp, refreshing, and perfect for warm Algarve evenings. Add in lively top-40 style music (often in English) and you’ve got a fun, holiday-friendly atmosphere that still feels relaxed rather than loud.

Food-wise, the menu hits that satisfying middle ground between beachside snacks and proper comfort meals. People consistently return for the flavours—think toasted sandwiches with fries that feel simple but done well, plus pizzas that look tempting the moment they land on the next table. It’s the kind of easy, shareable food that works whether you’re grazing with drinks or sitting down for a full meal.

Service can vary depending on the moment, but overall the experience leans strongly positive—especially when you factor in the location, the view, and the consistently enjoyable food and cocktails. If you’re looking for a scenic, come-as-you-are spot in Albufeira with a standout patio, cocktails, and satisfying bites, Slightly expensive is well worth putting on your shortlist.

It was actually quite good, although the food took a while. The views of Oura beach are fantastic, and the desserts were very good.

💥💥💥DISGRACEFUL 💥💥💥 THIS PLACE IS RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. Just because they are beside the beach doesn't mean you should be taking advantage of your customers. €7.70 for 2 small tins of coke and Fanta. You can get it €2 cheaper even at Zoo Marine or if you go across the road from Borda D'Agua , in the supermarket you can buy them for nearly €1 . This is really bad for tourism business. Fix your prices.

It was okay. A typical tourist trap. The food was fine in itself, but it was just stuff rather than really good food. But we enjoyed sitting on the beach, so that was the plus.
