Mediterranean Seafood and Excellent Sangria in Cozy Sagres Style

Pedra do Gigante, set along estrada nacional 268 in Sagres, is a relaxed, welcoming restaurant where the food easily justifies a little extra time at the table. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable—clean, well kept, with great music in the background—making it a nice choice for a calm dinner after a day of beaches, cliffs, and windy viewpoints.

The menu leans into Mediterranean cuisine with a strong focus on seafood. If you love options, you’ll be happy here: tuna, swordfish, squid, shellfish, and other ocean-forward dishes show up with the kind of freshness that’s worth waiting for. A popular pick is dourada (gilthead bream), served with salad and satisfying homemade fries—simple, filling, and done with care so the fish stays the star.

Drinks are part of the experience too, and the sangria is a must if you enjoy something bright and easygoing with seafood. It’s the kind of pairing that turns dinner into a linger-a-bit-longer evening, especially when you’re catching up with friends or winding down from a travel day.

Save room for dessert if you can. The sweets have that comforting, homemade feel—one standout is a rich cake layered with cream, caramel, and banana, the kind of finish that makes you glad you didn’t skip the final course.

Service is friendly and the team works hard, though it’s worth knowing that dishes can take a little while when things are busy. The upside is that the quality shows up on the plate—fresh, well prepared, and flavorful enough that most people agree it’s time well spent.

For travelers looking for a restaurant in Sagres with excellent seafood, cozy vibes, and great sangria, Pedra do Gigante is a rewarding stop.

The food is very good and the prices are generally reasonable. Regarding the service, I take my hat off to the servers who are very welcoming, friendly, and always smiling. In particular, the young woman who served us was exceptionally kind. The service was very responsive; we arrived on time to watch the sunset from Pointe Saint Vincent. Well done! 👍
