Indian Garden brings bold, comforting, beautifully balanced Indian cooking to Alvor, right on R. Dr. Afonso Costa. It’s a favourite for relaxed evenings with family or friends, thanks to its warm hospitality, calm atmosphere, and dishes that consistently deliver that true, authentic character people look for in Indian cuisine.
The kitchen shines with classics that are made with care rather than shortcuts. Many diners return specifically for the chicken tikka masala, often mentioned for tender chicken and a gravy that’s rich, fragrant, and full of flavour without being overwhelming. Butter chicken is another standout—creamy, smooth, and well balanced—while options like chicken tikka jalfrezi bring a lively, spiced kick that still feels harmonious instead of overly hot.
If you’re hungry (or sharing), it’s hard to go wrong with the mixed grill and tandoori plates. Expect a satisfying variety of meats cooked with that distinct smoky edge, served juicy and well seasoned. For anyone who loves hearty comfort food, dal makhani is frequently described as tasting homemade—deep, warming, and perfect alongside rice or bread. Presentation is thoughtful, portions feel generous, and the menu offers enough choice to suit both spice-lovers and those who prefer something milder.
What makes the experience even better is the way the team runs the room: polite, attentive, and happy to help with recommendations so you can build a meal that fits your preferences. The setting stays easygoing and welcoming, making it a reliable pick whether you’re planning a casual dinner, a family meal, or a repeat visit during your stay.
For anyone searching for authentic Indian cuisine and a dependable Indian restaurant in Alvor, this is one of the strongest options in town—flavourful, friendly, and consistently satisfying.

Followed by butter chicken, tikka masala and house curry. Best curry I ve had anywhere and a wonderful shot of white port to wash it down. It's a must try if you visit alvor.
