DON GULL sits just off the flow of central Lagos, and it’s the kind of restaurant you notice once—then immediately want to come back to. The room feels modern and stylish without trying too hard, with an atmosphere that works just as well for a spontaneous night out as it does for a planned dinner. If you’re walking toward the city centre and want something that doesn’t feel like a tourist trap, this is a smart pick.
The kitchen leans into a confident, creative style—think innovative fusion cuisine rooted in Portuguese flavors, served with polish and plenty of personality. Diners often talk about how consistent the food is from one visit to the next, which is exactly what you want when you’re choosing a “let’s do this again tomorrow” kind of place. One standout way to start is the “Madame of the North” appetizer—known for being both generously portioned and genuinely delicious, making it ideal for sharing (or not).
On the mains, DON GULL shines when it plays with comfort and seafood. The Sea Rice is frequently mentioned for its deep, satisfying flavor—warm, savory, and full of character. If you’re in the mood for something richer, the tomato tortellini is a crowd favorite for being creamy and indulgent without feeling heavy. For a more classic seafood direction, the tuna loin is a popular choice—clean, well-prepared, and nicely presented.
Save room for dessert because this is where the fun really starts. Guests love the unexpected touches: a cheesecake-like tart and cotton-candy ice cream that finishes the meal on a playful note, or a moist chocolate cake topped with caramel for a more traditional (and deeply satisfying) finale.
What really completes the experience is the service—attentive, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. The restaurant is often busy, so booking ahead is a good idea if you want an indoor table, especially later in the evening. For anyone searching for a memorable restaurant in Lagos with style, flavor, and a little surprise in every course, DON GULL is an easy recommendation.

in the last weekVanavond 3 augustus 2026 daar gegeten.

a week agoExcellent restaurant! I discovered this typical Portuguese dish for the first time – a real treat! My wife also had a delicious beef carpaccio.
