Astor Argentinian Grill is a must for steak lovers visiting Tavira. Intimate in size but big on flavor and hospitality, this Argentinian restaurant delivers the kind of meal people talk about long after the plates are cleared—beautiful presentation, warm service, and expertly cooked meats that keep guests coming back.
The star of the show is, of course, the Argentinian steak. Diners consistently describe the steaks as cooked to perfection, with rich flavor and top-tier quality that feels carefully sourced and handled with real skill. If you’re the kind of person who judges a restaurant by how well it treats a great cut of beef, Astor is likely to land very high on your list.
But it’s not only about steak. The menu has plenty of highlights that round out the experience: pickled aubergine is often mentioned as an addictive opener, and the salads have surprised more than a few guests by being “one of the best” they’ve had—fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully composed. For something different, the mustard-sauced pork medallions are another favorite that shows the kitchen’s range beyond the grill.
What really elevates Astor is the personal touch. Guests love the attentive, genuinely caring service, and many note that the chef takes time to check in—adding that extra layer of pride and welcome you don’t find everywhere. Finish with dessert and you’ll understand the hype: the tiramisu is frequently singled out as exceptional, and the apple crumble is a comforting, can’t-skip option if you’re saving room.
Because it’s a smaller dining room, reservations are a smart move—especially if you want a prime table for a relaxed steak dinner in Tavira.

in the last weekWe saw how highly rated this restaurant was and we weren't disappointed. I had a tenderloin steak and it was cooked to perfection. It was delicious . It was followed up with the tiramisu. Another delight. All the staff, including the steak chef, were very welcoming and attentive. We'll be back for sure!

a week agoBernardo, the owner, made our visit truly special. He personally explained and recommended each dish to us. The rest of the service was quick, friendly, and impeccable. The place is charming, and the quality and flavor of the food completely won us over. And if that weren't enough, I assure you that both the tiramisu and the panna cotta are the best you'll ever taste! Without a doubt, a reason to return to Tavira.
