a year agoWe stayed at Grand House and, as had been recommended by a number of travel sites, we dined one evening in the Grand Salon. We really wanted to love it but couldn’t: the food was unremarkable and while the staff themselves were friendly and kind, the service was really below par: slow and inattentive. We had to ask over and over again to have our water glasses refilled (we were told because it’s “fine dining” they don’t leave the water bottle on the table) and it was near impossible to get the attention of the servers who stood in the corner seeming to avoid anyone’s gaze. In addition, the dishes came out very, very slowly, even though there were very few people dining that evening. The whole restaurant is a nice idea but unfortunately really poorly executed. P.s. if you’ve heard about the bar and are coming for that, know that it’s tiny (two small tables only) and was oddly unstaffed on the Saturday night we were there.

a year agoOur dining experience here was top class 👏. Everything felt personal, from the bespoke cocktail we had made, to the chef coming out to explain and present some of the dishes. That's always a nice touch. The service throughout was excellent and as the restaurant was quiet (November), it was nice to chat to the head waiter. Food, service, wine environment, all perfect! Definitely recommend.

a year agoThe interior takes you back in time, and you'll be amazed by the Portuguese wines. The service deserves a 10+ (Oscar), and all the recommendations were delicious. The food is highly recommended, from the bread to the dessert.
