Little India Indian Restaurant is one of Tavira’s most dependable choices when you’re craving a satisfying, well-cooked curry in a friendly setting. With the option to dine both indoors and outdoors, it’s an easy fit whether you’re looking for a relaxed family meal, a date-night change from seafood, or a comforting dinner after a long day exploring town.
From the start, the welcome stands out. Guests often mention being greeted warmly—even during the busiest tourist periods—plus thoughtful guidance on dishes and spice levels. That kind of hosting makes a big difference, especially if you’re choosing between classics or tailoring heat to your preference. If you like things mild and creamy, the chicken korma is frequently enjoyed; if you’re after something bolder, dishes like lamb rogan josh bring the warmth and depth you’d hope for.
Starters and sides are a big part of the experience here. Many diners begin with poppadoms and pickles, then move into flavorful options like chicken shish kebab. For the table, rice and a peshwari naan are popular choices—often plenty to share without over-ordering. Portions are regularly described as generous, and the overall value feels strong for the quality and care coming out of the kitchen.
One point that earns particular praise is how well the food is balanced—rich and hearty without feeling heavy or greasy. Curry fans who are picky about that detail tend to leave especially impressed, calling it among the best they’ve had in Europe. Service is attentive and precise, keeping everything running smoothly while still feeling personal.
If you’re searching for Indian food in Tavira with a welcoming team, satisfying portions, and consistently tasty plates, Little India is an easy recommendation—bonus points if you’re happy to see Kingfisher lager on the menu.

in the last weekA must-visit whenever I go to Tavira, for me the best restaurant of this type of food. This time, the papadum detail was a bit off; they usually give you two (one per person), and when we only ordered two starters, a rice dish, and a meat dish, they only gave us one. But oh well, it doesn't detract from the place. The service is very good and always polite... Please... please!

in the last weekFantastic Indian restaurant in Tavira. We go every summer for dinner one night and it never disappoints. There are many British tourists, which in an Indian restaurant is a sign of good quality. Reasonable prices and good service. Highly recommended.
