Adega dos Arcos is the kind of local restaurant in Sagres that travelers hope to stumble upon—authentic, warm, and confidently focused on what this coastline does best: impeccably fresh seafood. The vibe is charming and unpretentious, with a team that makes you feel looked after without any fuss, creating the sort of relaxed dinner that turns into a highlight of your trip.
The signature experience here is choosing your fish from the day’s catch and watching it become dinner. Guests love the simple, honest setup: select what looks best, then it’s grilled on the spot and served with classic sides like fries or potatoes. That straightforward approach is exactly why it works—when the ingredients are this good, you don’t need to overcomplicate anything. If you’re hungry (or sharing), the mixed fish plate is a smart way to sample a variety of flavors and textures, and it’s often described as more than enough to leave the table properly satisfied.
Seafood lovers consistently single out the mussels as a must-order—fresh, deeply flavorful, and a step above what many people expect. Add a glass of local wine and you’ve got an easy, coastal-perfect meal that feels special without trying too hard. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, making it equally suited for a casual dinner for two or a bigger group that wants to eat well and linger a little.
If you’re looking for grilled fresh fish and a genuinely local dining experience, Adega dos Arcos delivers the real deal—delicious food, kind service, and that unmistakable Sagres charm.

a week agoThe perfect spot for dinner after sunset at Cape St. Vincent. The fresh grilled fish is absolutely wonderful (I recommend the tuna and sardines). The price is even better; it's one of the few places that shows you the weight of the fish on the scales when you choose it—very honest people. They're really nice, prioritizing service over making money. The owner shows you the freezer with all the available fish when you order. The waitresses are very attentive. A 10 out of 10 in every way.

a week agoA small local restaurant that serves mainly fresh grilled meat and fish with a friendly prices and a great choice of red and white wines. The choice is simple but tasty that can't go wrong if you like simple choices. To get a table without reservation is advised to have patients or come at 14.30 for lunch.
