The Beach Basket is a refreshing find in Albufeira for anyone craving real local flavor over the usual holiday staples. Set near Praça Miguel Bombarda, it’s the sort of place people end up visiting twice—not because it’s trendy, but because it feels authentic, welcoming, and genuinely focused on Portuguese cuisine. Add in the beautiful views, and you’ve got an easy spot to linger over a long lunch or a relaxed dinner as the light changes outside.
The menu is especially appealing if you want to explore beyond burgers and pizza and try the dishes that reflect the region. Seafood plays a big role, and for many guests, trying octopus here becomes a highlight—tender, well-prepared, and approachable even if it’s your first time ordering it. If you like learning what to eat as you go, the team makes that easy: staff are often praised for being kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about local dishes, helping you choose something you’ll genuinely enjoy.
Service at The Beach Basket feels personal in the best way. Solo diners mention being made to feel at home, while groups celebrating special moments—like birthdays—talk about staff going the extra mile to make the evening feel special. That combination of professionalism and warmth gives the restaurant a friendly buzz without ever feeling chaotic.
Food is described as tasty and satisfying, and the drinks seal the deal. The sangria is a standout—bright, refreshing, and ideal with seafood or shared plates. Pair that with the view and it’s easy to see why people recommend this spot so strongly: it delivers the full holiday feeling while still keeping its roots in local cooking.
If you’re searching for a Portuguese restaurant in Albufeira with great views, warm service, and a menu that encourages you to try authentic Algarve dishes, The Beach Basket is a strong choice—perfect for celebrations, relaxed catch-ups, or a solo meal that still feels like an occasion.

in the last weekTerrible service! The waiter was unpleasant, refused to serve a dish chosen by a friend, refused to split the bill to make payment easier, spoke curtly, and the food wasn't fresh. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

2 weeks agoUnfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. The food was of very poor quality overall. The fish smelled strongly of spoilage and was inedible for us. The other fish dishes had the same unpleasant smell and taste, which only reinforced the impression of a lack of freshness. The pasta was also disappointing and tasted very bland. The sangria, too, fell far short of our expectations. The only positive aspect was the beautiful view. Unfortunately, this couldn't compensate for the overall very poor experience. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant due to the quality of the food and the service.
