The space
Our beautiful and bright house, Casinha de Sardinha, consists of:
– KITCHEN fully equipped
– BATHROOM walk in shower and typical bathroom amenities
– LIVING ROOM and BEDROOM combined into one large open space with high vaulted ceilings, skylights, secondary exit, comfy sofa, Smart TV (with Netflix and HBO accounts), desk, king size (180x200cm) bed on an elevated platform to create a separation between the two spaces, closet rack for hanging, shelves and a basket for folded clothes and space under the sofa for small suitcases.
We do not have air conditioning, but the house stays very cool in the summer as the walls are thick and well insulated and we have a great, powerful yet quiet ceiling fan that keeps the place extra cool in the hot summer months. For winter months we provide heating. The skylights do not black out, but the windows and doors do.
Our house is designed for couples or friends, however small children are also welcome so just let us know that you would like us to prepare a travel cot and high chair!
Although the Casinha is very old, we spent a year renovating it ourselves, thinking of every little detail to make it the most enjoyable stay possible for you! We built everything from scratch so you will see lots of custom furniture- a truly unique space that you wont find anywhere else.
Where possible, we sourced most of our furnishings locally as we try to support the local community! In saying this, there are things that we offer for purchase, so if you like something let us know!
It is a 5 minute walk to the beaches and about a 2 minute walk to the nearest cafes so if you don’t have a car, don’t worry, you are right in the center of it all! It is on a safe residential street so you will be ok to walk everywhere day and night. The house is also on the corner of two streets with two separate entries for your use.
The house is located in an area that doesn’t have any bars, restaurants or hostels, however, as it is in the historic center, one does need to expect some level of foot and car traffic on adjacent streets. The house is located on the corner of two streets.
For those who do have a car, there is lots of street parking on our road near the house so its unlikely you will struggle with finding a spot. If you have a lot of things, I recommend pulling up to the house, unloading, and then parking back on the hill! Lagos can be tricky to navigate so keep in mind there are a lot of one way streets!
We have an Alojamento License so we are a legal, tax paying business, and everything has met all safety requirements. We recommend you get travel insurance as we are not liable.

The whole house is for your use apart from the cabinet next to the oven and under the fridge.

*** we do not provide shampoo/conditioner on arrival but if you would like some please request in advance so that we are able to have it waiting for you!
*** our check out time as you can see is 10am. Please respect this as our cleaners are super busy and can not change the time nor wait while you pack! Thank you!
