The Lagoa coast between Ferragudo and Senhora da Rocha is pleated with small coves, and Praia do Padre Vicente is one of the quiet ones: a strip of sand under the same ochre cliffs that made its neighbours famous, minus the infrastructure and the audience.

Come with modest expectations and self-sufficiency: no services, no supervision, and access that should be checked locally rather than assumed. The cliffs on this coast are unstable and shed rock. Keep away from the base and off the unfenced edges above.

Who it’s for: cove completists working the Lagoa cliff line who have already done the famous names and want sand without an audience. Everyone else is better served by Carvoeiro’s marked and maintained accesses.
