The fort sits on a hard Atlantic headland west of Sagres, with the sea below and Cabo de Sao Vicente close enough to pair naturally in the same outing. Do not come expecting an open monument interior. The draw is the fortified outline, the chapel remains, the exposed cliff edge and the water beyond.

The strongest frames are made around the fort and the headland rather than inside the buildings. The structure gives you a clear historic subject against a wide ocean setting, while the cliff top adds scale without needing much staging. The water here can carry a vivid blue tone, and the surrounding coast gives the place a rougher western Algarve mood than the busier coves farther east.
