2 months agoJoao was a brilliant host for their Mix your own wine workshop! We’ve done many wine tastings all over the world but I must say this was the most fun! After a quick tour of the facilities we got to try three wines and then make some experimental blends of them, it was crazy to see how a small blending difference can have a big impact on the wine! Once we’d selected our favourite blends we named our wines, filled our bottles and corked them! It was great to come away with a truly unique souvenir. If you love your wines do not miss this mix your own wine workshop!

3 months agoJust returned from a fantastic few days staying at Quinta Dos Vales. All the staff were very friendly & helpful. The vineyard was so peaceful, with beautiful views. The sculpture gardens were very intriguing and we noticed new art every day, behind hedges & up in trees! We stayed in Casa Margarida and an apartment, both were very comfortable and had everything we needed. We played tennis & padel on great quality courts and will be trying some more sports when we visit again soon, already booked 😁

5 months agoThe room accommodation made this stay worth it very modern and clean, with a nice view of the winery and well furnished. The pool close to the rooms was also very nice. Could have had a bar and music or something added to it. Lots of cool art around the winery, some of which needs updating or a fresh coat of paint. The cleaning staff was super nice and kept the rooms immaculate, very friendly and kind. Wines also very tasty and if you get a room combo a bottle is included with a 3 wine tasting. Great experience

7 months ago❌ AVOID THIS PLACE — TOTAL SCAM ❌ how can this place have 4.6 rating??? We booked this place through Booking.com for my birthday. I imagined beautiful vineyard views, a glass of wine, and a peaceful stay — like the photos showed. But the reality was the complete opposite. We arrived around 5 PM and here’s what actually happened: • Parking was far and there were lots of stairs — not ideal with luggage, but okay, that was the least of the problems. • The “vineyard view” was actually a view of rooftops. Nothing like the pictures. • The winery grounds were messy, with overgrown grass. We’ve visited wineries before — this looked more like a farm than anything else. • Inside the house: the furniture was new, but the kitchen was barely equipped — two plates and one pan. We found only two tiny wine glasses (like vermouth glasses). You’re staying at a winery and there are no proper wine glasses?! • Worst of all — the strong smell of mold. I’m allergic, and I started coughing right after walking in. I can’t imagine how I would’ve felt if we had actually stayed the night. We went to the “reception” — which is just a wine shop that closes at 6 PM — and told them what was going on. We were very disappointed. For €200 per night, this is not what you expect.. They called their boss, who agreed to give us a refund and sent us a confirmation email. No apology, no explanation, nothing. We finally received the refund, but it took a full month and multiple follow-ups. This place sells itself as a winery stay, but it’s really a budget farm stay with fancy marketing. They even advertise some digital marketing award, probably for making the place look way better online than it is in real life. Don’t waste your time and money here.
