Restaurante Izakaya brings an authentic, cozy Japanese dining experience to Silves, right at the start of a charming central street. It’s the kind of place that feels intimate and welcoming from the moment you sit down—more like a traditional sushi bar than a formal dining room—making it a great fit for relaxed lunches, casual date nights, or an easy meal with friends.
The food is the main event, and it’s where this restaurant consistently wins people over. Sushi here is prepared fresh to order, with a focus on quality that even skeptics notice. In fact, it’s not uncommon to hear that a first visit completely changes someone’s mind about sushi—thanks to clean flavors, careful preparation, and a menu that feels thoughtfully balanced rather than repetitive. If you’re already a fan, you’ll appreciate the freshness and the made-to-order approach; if you’re not, the kitchen still has you covered with a broader mix of Japanese dishes beyond rolls and nigiri.
Hospitality is another strong point. The owners are often described as genuinely friendly, creating a warm, personal vibe that makes visitors feel looked after without any fuss. That welcoming approach pairs well with the restaurant’s cozy setting and central location, which is convenient when you’re exploring town or heading out for an evening stroll.
Value is a pleasant surprise too, especially if you time your visit around their all-you-can-eat offerings. Many guests recommend the lunch and dinner options as a great way to sample widely across the menu—ideal if you want to try a little of everything. To round things out, don’t skip the drinks; the sangria is a popular choice alongside the meal.
For anyone searching for a Japanese restaurant with standout fresh sushi in Silves, Restaurante Izakaya is an easy pick—welcoming, consistently delicious, and quietly memorable.

a month agoI usely come here every 2 weeks and I still love it! The food was good, the staff were a family so I can understand why it was a bit slow and they helped me when I didn't know how to use chopsticks!

2 months agoWe ate there on a recommendation and it was delicious. All you can eat costs €15.90, which I think is really reasonable for the quality and selection. The portions are huge compared to German sushi restaurants, especially the sushi platters. You can sit inside or outside. And you can order takeout. Parking is available right in front.
