Cruz de Portugal is the kind of classic Silves restaurant that keeps locals coming back and visitors smiling as soon as they sit down. Even when the dining room is buzzing, the team runs a tight ship—service stays friendly, organised, and surprisingly quick, so you can focus on what you came for: seriously satisfying food at great value.
The star of the show is the house chicken, widely loved for its flavour and freshness. If you enjoy a little heat, order the chicken piri-piri—it’s the dish people talk about long after the plates are cleared, with that addictive spicy kick balanced by juicy, well-cooked meat. Everything arrives tasting freshly made, and the kitchen’s consistency makes it easy to recommend this place whether you’re dropping in for a casual lunch or planning an easygoing dinner with family.
Speaking of family, the atmosphere feels welcoming and down-to-earth, making it a comfortable pick for groups of all sizes. You’ll notice the pace is efficient without feeling rushed, and staff keep things moving smoothly even at peak times—ideal if you’re hungry after exploring town.
Save room for something sweet. Desserts here aren’t an afterthought, and the fresh desserts are a highlight in their own right. The cheesecake, in particular, is a popular finish—creamy, satisfying, and exactly what you want after a punchy main. If you’re looking for a reliable, well-priced restaurant in Silves that nails the classics with warm service, this is a must-stop.

a month agoWe visited Cruz de Portugal on a Sunday evening for 19:00, when they reopened for evening service. It seemed very popular with residents and tourists. The lovely waitress showed us to our table and was very attentive and helpful in service even with having a restaurant full of satisfied customers. Our daughter was happy to play with other children in the park next to the restaurant while we ordered. We shared olives, bread and cheese to snack on along with a lovely salad before our meals arrived. For our main meals we couldn't come to Cruz de Portugal without trying their speciality Piri Piri Chicken. It was so full of flavour and accompanied with homemade chips. The veal steak was literally like cutting through butter, so tender. Pork ribs fell off the bone and was also delicious. On passing to the toilet we noticed their homemade desserts, even though we had full stomachs we couldn't leave without trying at least one of them. Enjoyable evening and would 💯% return if we was to stay in Silves again. Obrigado
