a week agoExcellent food - reasonably priced, fresh and of high quality. Authentic Portuguese. Excellent service - the young man and older man were very polite, courteous and friendly. Will be coming here again and again. Seems to be a popular spot for locals and tourists.

2 weeks agoWhat a wonderful restaurant. There’s no menu, you are served a set series of local dishes; so it is not a place for fussy eaters. On the Saturday in July we went we ate the following: 1. Olives, fig jam & cheese, carrots with garlic 2. Cuttlefish roe salad with eggs and potatoes 3. Salted and boiled Mackerel with tomatoes 4. Fried and battered Stingray with a razor clam and corn sauce 5. Clams in a garlic sauce 6. Fried Croaker fish soup 7. Pork stew 8. Portuguese desserts: Carob cake, Fig and almond sweet,Almond and shredded egg, orange cake Each dish was served by enthusiastic members of the family running the place. The €40 per person (cash only) included very drinkable house wine and coffee - fantastic value. We left completely full and delighted to have found an authentic Algarvian restaurant at last. Book before you go (telephone don’t bother with booking system) and bring cash.

3 weeks agoSimple, traditional cuisine that unfortunately only partially won us over. Two great appetizers (croquettes and mussels), two weak main courses (noodle soup with monkfish, pig's feet), the rest was okay. The service was excellent, super friendly and welcoming.
