A Grande Muralha on R. Dom João II is a trusted favourite for anyone looking for a satisfying Chinese restaurant in Alvor with a warm atmosphere and consistently generous portions. It’s the kind of dependable spot you keep in your back pocket—ideal when you want an easy, relaxed dinner that still feels like a proper night out.
One of the most popular ways to dine here is by choosing a set meal for two, which guests often describe as fantastic and seriously abundant. If you like variety—different flavours, textures, and a table full of plates to dip into—this is exactly the style that works. The portions are famously hearty, with diners mentioning they couldn’t finish everything, making it a great choice for sharing or for those who like to take their time and enjoy a long meal.
Regular visitors highlight how consistent the experience is year after year. That kind of long-term loyalty doesn’t happen by accident: it points to a kitchen that keeps standards steady and a team that understands hospitality. Service is frequently described as outstanding—friendly, attentive, and efficient—helping the whole restaurant feel comfortable and welcoming, whether you’re dining as a couple, with friends, or bringing the family along.
The overall vibe is another reason people return. The atmosphere is commonly noted as a real plus: relaxed enough for a casual weeknight, but lively and pleasant when you’re celebrating or meeting up with guests in town. It’s a straightforward place to settle in, order confidently, and enjoy food that arrives in generous waves—perfect for anyone who loves classic Chinese comfort dishes served with care.
If you’re after a reliable set meal for two, a friendly dining room, and a consistently enjoyable experience in Alvor, A Grande Muralha is a solid choice you’ll likely want to revisit on your next trip.

a week agoMy advice is don't bother with any of the starters apart for the crispy duck. All mains really nice, rice light and fluffy, noodles a bit greasy. Dessert not made with and love but was as described. Overall for what it is it's o.k and we would go back as it's great value for money . Just nothing special so don't expect it.
Por ai a degustar!!!
