Tupuq Restaurante & Bar brings a fresh, elevated dining option to Olhos de Água, pairing minimalist luxury with a calm, exclusive ambiance that feels like a true getaway. Set on Rua Torre da Medronheira, this standout restaurant & bar is often described as a quiet oasis—perfect for a long, cozy dinner where the details matter: thoughtful lighting, a beautiful terrace, and service that feels genuinely international in its polish while still staying warm and personal.
The kitchen leans Portuguese with a modern twist, and the dishes regularly impress across the board. Seafood lovers in particular tend to leave happy—octopus is frequently singled out as exceptional, praised for being perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Starters like lobster risotto set the tone for a special evening, and mains such as tender, juicy Iberian black pig show the menu’s confidence with both land and sea. Even the opening couvert gets attention, especially the freshly baked bread selection that kicks the meal off on a comforting, high-quality note.
Dessert is also part of the reason people return. The pão de ló paired with pear-infused ice cream is the sort of finale that turns dinner into an occasion—balanced, memorable, and beautifully executed. Add in a well-curated drinks program, and you’ve got a place that works just as well for a sunset cocktail as it does for a full multi-course experience.
What ties it all together is the team: friendly, attentive, and professional, with hosts who make guests feel genuinely welcomed. For anyone looking for fine dining energy without stiffness, Tupuq Restaurante & Bar is a must-know address in Olhos de Água for Portuguese cuisine, terrace evenings, and service that makes you want to linger.

in the last weekCame here for a special anniversary celebration and the staff could not have been kinder. The setting is wonderful and we enjoyed a pre dinner cocktail. The food is truly exceptional. The lobster bisque was generous and tasty, and the garlic shrimp was outstanding. For mains, the confit octopus was far and away the best octopus we have ever had. The turbot fillet was cooked to perfection and thoroughly enjoyable. My only constructive criticism, and it is very minor, is that the pak choi that accompanies the turbot was challenging to cut into with the fish knife, but it was still delicious. Most of us did not have room for dessert as the portions are filling but our sons enjoyed the apple tart very much. We were also delighted to be gifted a celebration cake and Prosecco that was most unexpected as we had already received an anniversary present by the management of the Masana where we were staying (the restaurant is in the resort but open to all). Overall it was a most memorable meal. The chef is very talented and pays great attention to detail so would highly recommend, especially for a special occasion. Thank you very much everyone at Tupuq and the Masana for looking after us so well.
