Our property is called Casa Stardust and it is placed in a traditional village of Quelfes only 10 mins from a very beautiful town- Olhao. You will find yourself super close the best market with fresh fish, vegetables, fruit, etc., in the area. Olhao has its amazing charm of a fishermen’s coast town. There is a main house and 4 cottages on the property. All very private and with a huge land attached to it. We are in our page as well.
The space
Please note that this is not a typical rental option but a fabulous family home with plenty of character. We ask you to treat it with due respect as it is where we put 9 years of love and effort. Our whole quinta is an old, traditional property. It is not a modern, plastic house, so please make sure you understand what you are renting. It’s a rustic and very charming place and needs a loving approach. Our walls are not straight, the insulation is not like in condos and one must make effort to use the woodburners, gas heaters and dehumidifiers in winter. In summer most of the units have standing fans only. The garden is huge and not treated, so you can see some insects or rodents, although our cats successfully work on the latter. You need to have a bit of a scout attitude, but then the place will resonate with you fully.
Casa Stardust is placed in a traditional small village of Quelfes only 10 mins from a very beautiful town- Olhao. You will find hourself super close the beaches of Armona/Culatra/Farol-3 islands in front of Olhao’s harbour, to the best market with fresh fish, vegetables, fruit, etc., in the area, to the magnificent beach of Barril /25 mins drive/ and to the vibrant Faro with its airport /25 mins drive/. Olhao has its amazing charm of a fisherman’s coast town with its great architecture, artistic expats, vibrant and serene aura. Casa Stardust is also a 30 minute drive from the Spanish border where you can discover the beautiful town of Ayamonte straight after the border or enjoy magnifucent Sevilla that is only an 1.5h drive from here.
It’s an excellent starting point for biking in the nearby villages, exploring the Natural Park of Ria Formosa, exploring Spain’s beauties, and Algarve’s’ richer part- Quinta do Lago/Vale do Lobo. You can reach the islands of Ria Formosa and the beautiful beaches of the area from Olhao Harbour. It is also a departure place for the boat tours, surf, visits of Ria Formosa Parc and all the summer activities.
Our house is a very big property with a huge garden spreading in front of it. Casa Stardust consists of a main house and 4 separate cottages. It can sleep up to 20 adults. There is the main house with the master bedroom, a smaller bedroom on the 1st floor, big living space, another single bedroom downstairs, a big and very light kitchen, tv room and loundry. It is a unique and colorful piece of art – the main house. Great decoration, traditional flooring/ in the main house/, painted furniture, walls, etc. Fantastic light effects, too! The main house has 2 exit doors: one opens to a swimming pool, its deck and the fabulous garden and the other one opens to a shady and very romantic court. From that one you enter to the cottages. Honeysuckle cottage has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4, Jamin & Pepper Tree cottages sleep 3 adults each or less adults & more kids if they share pull-out sofas and our recently built Loft Figueira that has one open space with a queen bed and convertible 1.40m sofa bed. Loft has it’s own liner pool and a private small garden. We also have a traditional calçada /pavement/in the main parts of the garden.Our garden features 3 beautiful terraces: a round one with elegant outdoor furniture, old, tall trees surrounding it and a romantic turtle pond to relax by/, a very sunny one next to it and a pleasantly shady one in between the cottages. We have lots of old trees,flowers and even an orchard on our property. Fruit trees are at the further end of the garden behind wooden doors. The spacious house, the vast garden, great swimming pools, plus the extensive land belonging to the property is really something special in this area.
We also have some cats on the property. Please be so kind to respect them and love them. Some of the cats are used to staying in the main house /inform other allergics/. Some we inherited with the property.
Our house has a lot of charm and this special southern atmosphere you will adore. The air smells differently, the light is divine, the flowers and the greenery of the garden are simply enchanted and the swimming pool is a cherry on the top of it all 🙂

Other things to note
Please note that we have CATS on our property. NO OTHER ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY.
Please also be aware of the fact that:
– the pools are not heated.
– our internet is starlink
-the main house has AC upstairs, the cottages have portable fans, Pepper Tree and Loft have standing coolers. In winter there are gas hotspots or woodburners depending on the unit.
-the main houses’s big bathroom is an open bathroom/ no doors/ and the upstairs bedrooms have glass doors only. Bedroom downstairs /main house/ has no doors. It’s all an open concept.
-Loft has one open space and no bathroom doors: please check photos.
– for whole property rentals you will have 4 kitchens to your own use: the main house’s one, Honeysuckle’s, the Pepper Tree one and Loft’s one as well. Jasmin’s little kitchen remains closed.
– we will ask you NOT TO MIX kitchen utensils between the existing kitchens. IT IS OF MOST IMPORTANCE TO US AS STRAIGHT AFTER YOUR STAY THERE WILL BE SEPARATE RENTALS AND ALL OUR FUTURE GUESTS MUST HAVE THEIR STATED EQUIPMENT. Thank you in advance for attention to that part.

We also have a private 2-room apartment on our own property near Fuseta/ check our page/
– according to the new law from june 2023 we are obliged to collect a tourist tax of 1€/person/night in the low season /November-March/and 2€/person in high season /April-October/. It will be collected upon your arrival.
