Seven Cuts: Steaks, Francesinha & Hidden-Alley Charm in Faro

Seven Cuts is a favorite in Faro for anyone craving a hearty, well-cooked meal in a cozy setting. Tucked into a quaint alley just off the main strip on R. Conselheiro Bivar, it has that “hidden gem” feel—easy to walk past, hard to forget once you’ve eaten there.

The menu leans into satisfying comfort food with a strong grill focus. If you’re on the hunt for a proper Francesinha, this is one of the top places people point to, with a recipe that’s been refined with real intent. The result is a rich, indulgent sandwich that lives up to expectations and then some—perfect after a day exploring the city. And if you’re more of a main-course person, the grilled steaks are a standout: cooked to the doneness you ask for, served in generous portions, and paired with thoughtful sides (roasted pineapple is a popular touch for that sweet-savory balance).

Beyond the steakhouse staples, there’s variety for adventurous appetites too—starters like sausage with a unique flavor profile and seafood options such as baby squid in a salty, ocean-forward sauce. Add a glass of red wine and you’ve got an easy formula for a great night out, whether you’re dining as a couple or meeting friends.

What really completes the experience is the staff. The team is consistently described as warm and welcoming, helping you choose well and making the meal feel relaxed rather than rushed. Prices are fair for the quality and portion size, which is exactly what you want from a reliable neighborhood restaurant.

If you’re looking for a dependable restaurant in Faro with big flavors, friendly service, and a location that feels like a local secret, Seven Cuts is an excellent choice.

Good food, but staffs were all over the place and very desorganised. We ordered 3 startes and only 2 were served. The 1st plate was served within 20 minutes and the 2nd one in 45 minutes (not together) We haven't finished one of our plates and it was taken away, so they could bring the main meal. There was no description about the salad included in the meals, and all of them came with pineaple - I am allergic to pineaple. I informed the waitress and kindly requested them to remove the salad and give me another one - they just brought my plate with no salad at all. I then had to speak to another member of staff and explain, and they finally brought me a salad, around 10 minutes after the request. Also, we ordered a glass of wine and it took over 10 minutes to come (my colleague was expecting to drink the wine while eating her starter meal, but because of the delay and the fact that they removed the plate without consent, she just wasted her money and it didn't meet her expectations. Well, staffs were running up and down and all over the place. Good for them to be busy, but if they cant cope, they must have a team meeting and make a plan. Menu and prices attached. Around €120 for 4 people
