A gap in the cliffs rather than a destination — Vale Espinhaço is one of the Lagoa coast’s smallest and least documented coves, a slot of sand between weathered limestone walls with no services and no formal access to rely on. It belongs to the same crumpled stretch of coast as the better-known Porches coves and shares their DNA — gold rock, clear water, dramatic walls — at a fraction of the size and none of the footfall.

Treat it as a scouting mission, not a plan. Paths on this stretch change with every winter’s erosion, the cliffs are unstable, nobody supervises anything, and at higher tides coves this small can lose their sand entirely.

Who it’s for: cove collectors working the Lagoa cliff line on foot who’ll look from above and make their own call. If you want a guaranteed beach day, this isn’t the pin to drive to.
