Praia das Andorinhas is one of the small, cliff-backed coves tucked into Albufeira’s rockier coastline, the kind of beach that doesn’t advertise. Expect a pocket of sand between ochre cliffs, clear water over rock, and none of the apparatus of the town beaches: no facilities, no lifeguards, no easy way down. Access is informal and changes with erosion: treat any path with suspicion, especially after winter storms.

The cliffs above are unstable and the cove is unsupervised; keep clear of the cliff base and don’t count on company if something goes wrong in the water.

Who it’s for: cove collectors who’ve done Albufeira’s named beaches and want a pocket of sand to themselves, and photographers after rock texture without towels in the frame. Verify the current access situation locally before committing to the climb down.
