Dolmen Pedras Altas

Dolmen Pedras Altas is a small, serious inland photo stop: a prehistoric stone monument set high in the hills above Cachopo. The reward is not only the structure itself, but the way it sits in the serra, with open ground around it and the landscape dropping away beyond.

The photograph here is spare and grounded. Work close to the stones for shape, texture and scale, then step back enough to let the hilltop setting read around the monument. The place suits simple compositions: stone against sky, the dolmen anchored in rough upland terrain, or the monument held small in frame with the high-country view doing the work.

When to go: leave the light field blank unless you scout it. The strong fact is the climb, not a proven sunrise or sunset angle. The approach is on foot up the hill, and it is hard enough that footwear and time should be treated as part of the visit rather than an afterthought.
