A Vineyard Oasis in Lagoa for Tastings, Tours, and Unforgettable Lunches

Morgado do Quintão is the kind of place you remember long after you’ve left the Algarve. Tucked away in Lagoa, this winery feels like a hidden oasis—guests often describe the approach as a quiet, rural drive that suddenly opens into a beautiful, welcoming estate. It’s a perfect pick for anyone who wants to slow down, sip something special, and spend a few hours immersed in local flavors and scenery.

Wine lovers come for the tastings and leave talking about how enjoyable and generous the experience feels. Visitors frequently mention delicious wines and an atmosphere that’s both relaxed and refined. If you’re curious about what you’re drinking, you’ll appreciate the staff: tastings are guided by people who are knowledgeable, friendly, and great at explaining what makes each pour distinctive. The premium tasting experience is especially popular, often paired with a thoughtfully prepared board—think a satisfying spread of cheeses and meats that complements the wines without overpowering them.

Beyond the glass, the tour element is a highlight. Guests describe the vineyard walk and behind-the-scenes explanations as genuinely interesting, adding depth to the tasting and giving you a better understanding of the land and craft behind each bottle. It’s a well-rounded visit—beautiful setting, attentive service, and just the right amount of learning without feeling formal or rushed.

Many travelers also make a point of booking lunch, and it’s easy to see why. Diners talk about a multi-course experience with a strong emphasis on local agriculture and produce, where each dish feels intentional and seasonal. Pairings are often described as unique and delicious, turning lunch into a true Algarve food-and-wine moment rather than just a meal between sightseeing stops. The hospitality stands out too—when plans change, the team is known for being accommodating and solution-focused, which makes the whole visit feel effortless.

If you’re exploring Lagoa and want a standout day built around wine tasting, local food, and a serene countryside setting, Morgado do Quintão is a must. Arrive with time to linger—you’ll want to enjoy every course, every pour, and the peaceful vibe of the estate.

What a wonderful winery with delicious wines. Our wine tasting manager was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Wish we could ship wine back to Canada as we thoroughly enjoyed our tasting (the shipping options were very expensive). Highly recommend if in the area. And thank you again for such a great experience.

Had such an incredible lunch experience here (that was kindly rescheduled for us after falling ill during our initial reservation at no additional charge). Each course was phenomenal, with a huge emphasis on local agriculture and produce. Wine pairings were unique and delicious. Can’t recommend stopping by enough to anyone in the area!

What an amazing place! You feel as if you’re going into the middle of nowhere as you head up the dirt track but then you come across the buildings and a pure oasis! We did the premium wine tasting and tour. Delicious wine and lots of it with a lovely cheese and meat board followed by a really interesting tour of the vineyard. Every member of staff we met were lovely.

My family, a party of eleven adults and children, had a wonderful lunch and wine pairing on December 31st. Everything was perfect and Clara, our hostess, wonderful during our meal and the tour of the property that followed. Altogether, it was a great way to close the year 2025.

We booked the cooking workshop with chef Margarida which includes - shopping for ingredients at the market, which was very small and had little produce on offer, for example no fish. Margarida told us some nice things and it was oké but not very special The cooking workshop itself was very disappointing; the only things I had to do was chop 3 tomatoes and one pepper, and in the end I helped to clean some shrimps. My friends chopped some other veggies and one fried some fritters. The other helped to prepare a simple main dish and put some spices into a carrot salad. We are quite accomplished cooks and expected to cook all the dishes of the 3 course meal and learn new techniques and recipes. The technical part was done by Margaride herself or was already prepared ahead. The carrots were cooked, the batter for the fritters prepared etc. We really feel we didn’t learn any new skills and we didn’t even get a pdf with recipes as is descibed on the website. We got the recipes later after asking. The lunch itself was pleasant but we were surprised that certain dishes as the bean salad and the desert were prepared for us and we didn’t get to cook this ourself. The best thing of this experience is that lunch is served under this very impressive and beatiful 2000 years old olive tree. It felt like the kitchen was very busy with a different cook preparing a farmers lunch for a group of 20 American guests. And there was little space and time to provide us with the attention and tasks you may expect when paying a whopping 150 euros per person! Comparing this with the guests who got the farmers lunch for 60 euros per person who got more food and a tour of the property extra, we would advice you to choose this farmers lunch as it is much better value for money. The cooking workshop is very simple and you learn no skills, just to prepare a small part of the very simple recipes. Definitely not worth the 150 Euro per person!
