cityXplorer is a flexible, traveler-friendly tour operator in Faro, located right by Praça Dom Francisco Gomes—an easy meeting point in the city center that makes it simple to fit a tour into your day. If you’re the type who likes to arrive somewhere and quickly get your bearings (while still enjoying the surprises), cityXplorer is a smart option for turning a free morning or afternoon into a well-spent experience.
Faro can be quietly captivating: charming squares, historic layers, and a coastal atmosphere that changes with the light and the tide. A good tour operator helps you connect those dots—so you’re not just walking past places, but actually understanding what you’re seeing and why it matters. cityXplorer is well positioned for exactly that, especially if you want to start central and explore at a comfortable pace before moving on to dinner plans, a waterfront stroll, or onward travel.
This is a great fit for first-time visitors who want a structured introduction, as well as returning travelers who want to notice more detail and take a deeper look at the city. It’s also helpful if your schedule is tight: with a meeting point in the heart of Faro, you can spend less time coordinating logistics and more time enjoying the city itself. And because it’s a tour operator rather than a one-size-fits-all attraction, you can expect an approach that’s geared toward making the experience run smoothly—from start time to finish.
If you’re looking for a reliable way to explore, learn, and enjoy the vibe of the city in a single outing, cityXplorer is an excellent choice for Faro city tours that feel organized, central, and easy to join.

3 months agoJoao took us to Estoi in his wonderful tuktuk on an escorted tour of the Palace Gardens of Estoi (free to enter) and the Roman Ruins of Milreu (2 euro entry fee each). He was very knowledgeable and explained the history in English. Before the start of our tour Joao asked if there was anywhere else we would like to visit and accommodated us by driving via the salt flats to see the flamingos . Highly recommended tour, you will not be disappointed. We had a great morning. Thank you Joao.

a year agoI couldn't recommend this tour more, we had such a great time and João's knowledge of the area was amazing. We went all around the city to all the fantastic sightseeing spots with a running commentary along the way, João was friendly, professional and accommodating, he even took us off the beaten track to view some great street art. If you are visiting beautiful Faro, you really need to do this tour!

a year agoJoão is an exceptional guide. We enjoyed a fascinating tour about the history of Faro, its monuments, and its ancient and modern customs. He speaks French, English, and Portuguese. It was an enriching and very pleasant tuk-tuk experience. Time flew by; we should have taken the full tour because João was so engaging! He even recommended a restaurant and a viewpoint overlooking the lagoon. Thank you so much! Bénédicte and Christophe

2 years agoWonderful experience. With our 4-years old twins we were wondering how to visit Faro given they don’t walk much. This was a great alternative of walking around. Joao is very knowledgeable and interesting, we learned much more than if we just wandered around the city. Speaks very good French as well. Thanks for the great ride!
