The house is located on a spacious plot of no less than 14 hectares, a dream place in Portugal, where you can fully enjoy peace, space and nature. You feel wonderfully far away from everything, which is very special in the Algarve, but the quinta is only a 15-minute drive from the beach and less than 10 minutes from nice restaurants. The large child-friendly garden, richly planted with fruit trees, among other things, has various terraces, a swimming pool (10 x 5 m.) with a paddling pool.
The space
This luxurious and recently very attractively renovated quinta, equipped with Wi-Fi and air conditioning, is located on a spacious plot of no less than 14 hectares in the village of Gorjoes, in a rural area near the historic city of Loulé and the attractive towns of Santa Barbara de Nexe and São Brás de Alportel. In addition to the four-bedroom main house for 8 people, Quinta Barbara consists of a guesthouse for four people and a cottage for two people.
The large child-friendly garden, richly planted with olive, almond and fruit trees, has several terraces, an old well, football field, table tennis table, Jeu-de-boules court and a spacious swimming pool (10 x 5 m.) with paddling pool and sunbeds. Directly adjacent to the luxurious and spacious kitchen is a covered terrace where large groups can enjoy dining. Here we also find the beautifully tiled permanent barbecue area.
The very tastefully decorated quinta has been renovated while retaining numerous authentic Portuguese elements and is equipped with all modern conveniences. The spacious kitchen-diner has an original Portuguese tiled floor, but also a large Smeg stove, Quooker, dishwasher and espresso machine. A wood stove and washer-dryer combination. Next to the kitchen there is an extra shower room with toilet that can also be reached from the swimming pool. The comfortable living room is equipped with a large sofa and several armchairs, a flat screen with Dutch channels and a beautiful wood-burning stove.
The main house has four air-conditioned bedrooms, one of which has an en suite bathroom. The other three bedrooms share a bathroom with bath, separate shower, toilet and bidet. The Cottage has a large bedroom, a smaller and adjacent living room and a bathroom, making it suitable for two adults and two children. The guesthouse has two double bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and an outdoor kitchen with barbecue.
In total, the Quinta can accommodate 10 adults + 2 kids and two babies. For smaller groups it is also possible to rent just the main house, possibly in combination with just the guesthouse or cottage. The house is cleaned once a week and provided with new linen and towels.
Groceries can be done in the supermarket in the nearest village of Santa Barbara de Nexe (5 km) or Soa Bras de Alportel. Here we also find some typical Portuguese restaurants. The city of Loulé, known for its beautiful covered fresh market, is 8 kilometers from the quinta. A day at the beach takes about 15 minutes by car.
