1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Algarve.org is a curated guide to photo-worthy places in the Algarve, Portugal. By using this website — with or without an account — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
2. The service
We publish curated location guides: descriptions, photography notes, and practical access information. Some details are visible to everyone; others are shown only to registered users. Certain features may in the future require a paid subscription, which will have its own clearly stated conditions before you pay for anything.
3. Accounts
Accounts are free to create. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials to yourself, and use one account per person. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, attempt to abuse the service, or remain compromised after warning. You can delete your account at any time via the contact page.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract content or data from this site, whether manually or with automated tools; (b) circumvent or attempt to circumvent access restrictions on member-only or subscriber-only content; (c) republish, resell, or redistribute our content or database, in whole or in part, without written permission; (d) use the site for any unlawful purpose or to post unlawful, infringing, or misleading content. Personal, non-commercial use — including sharing links to our pages — is welcome.
5. Your content
If you submit content to the site (reviews, comments, photos), you keep ownership of it and grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display it on the site in connection with the service. You must hold the rights to anything you submit. We may moderate, edit for formatting, or remove submitted content at our discretion, particularly where it is inaccurate, unlawful, or infringes someone’s rights.
6. Our content
The editorial content, structure, and database of this site are protected by copyright and database rights and belong to us or our licensors. Embedded social media posts remain the property of their creators and are displayed through the platforms’ official embedding tools; the respective platform’s terms govern them. If you are a creator and want your embedded content removed, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
7. Location information and safety
Photography locations can involve real risk: cliffs, tides, waves, unstable ground, remote trails, and changing weather. Information on this site — including access descriptions, difficulty ratings, and timing suggestions — is provided in good faith but conditions change and errors are possible. You visit any location entirely at your own risk and are responsible for your own judgement and safety, for respecting private property, protected areas, and local access rules, and for complying with applicable regulations, including drone rules. Never let a photograph take priority over your safety or anyone else’s.
8. Commercial venues
Some listings describe commercial venues such as cafés and restaurants. Venues are included on editorial merit only. A venue can never pay to be listed; paid options, where offered, only enhance a listing that already earned its place. Opening hours, prices, and seasonal availability change — always verify with the venue before making a special trip.
9. No warranties; limitation of liability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of accuracy, completeness, or uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms as the service evolves; the effective date above will change when we do, and continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. We may modify or discontinue features of the service. Material changes affecting paid features, once they exist, will be communicated in advance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. Disputes are subject to the competent Portuguese courts, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer to bring proceedings where you live.
