The space

Perched on a cliff above the golden stretch of beach fronting the quaint village of Salema, this luxury vacation rental affords gorgeous panoramas of the azure sea and and whitewashed town. The villa opens to a terracotta terrace with pergola-covered sitting and dining areas overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Follow the steps down to the lower-level terrace to stretch out in one of the sun loungers or take a swim in the infinity pool. In the evenings, try out locally caught octopus on the charcoal barbecue or, on cooler nights, cozy up inside by the wood-burning fireplace.
Contemporary architecture and African art give the interiors of Villa Mar a Vista a fresh, modern personality. A wall of sliding glass doors links the open-concept living and dining areas to the terrace, flooding the space with light. The fully equipped kitchen is tucked behind the dining area and features an espresso machine, ice maker and more.
From the villa, it’s a short walk down into Salema, a quiet fishing village that’s been discovered by visitors but hasn’t lost much of its traditional charm. Watch the fishermen unload their catch each morning, swim in the clear waters, hunt for the preserved dinosaur footprints on the beach or sip a drink at a waterfront restaurant. It’s a short drive to the golf course and tennis courts at the Santo Antonio resort, as well as the shopping and dining options in Lagos.
