South Kayaks Sagres delivers one of the most exciting ways to experience the coastline near Raposeira—especially if you want to see places that simply aren’t reachable on foot. Their Praia da Ingrina route is all about exploring sea-carved caves and quiet stretches of coast, combining adventure with a calm, well-guided approach that works for first-timers and experienced paddlers alike.
The highlight is the journey between Ingrina and nearby beaches, where the cliffs hide multiple caves that open up as you glide in by kayak. Guests often talk about how special it feels to access “kayak-only” spots—small caves, tucked-away inlets, and striking rock formations that make the Algarve coastline so famous. On a typical outing, you’ll spend around two hours exploring the coast, weaving in and out of caves, and taking in the colour of the water against the limestone.
Guiding is a major strength here. Many visitors appreciate that the guides know the area intimately and share fascinating context—not just about the route, but about everything from the fish in the water to the rocks under your paddle. Safety and care are clearly part of the experience, with a watchful, supportive style that helps everyone feel comfortable on the water.
Conditions can make or break a kayak day, and when the sea is calm the trip becomes something close to perfect: smooth paddling, time to explore multiple caves, and often a stop on a beach to take a break and enjoy the setting. Families, couples, and groups of friends regularly leave feeling like they’ve discovered a wilder, more natural side of Sagres—with the kind of scenery that stays with you.
If you’re looking for a kayak cave tour with knowledgeable guides, a fun atmosphere, and routes packed with coastal beauty, South Kayaks Sagres is a top choice in Sagres and the surrounding Algarve.

6 months agoWe had a lovely tour of the caves between Ingrina and branco, our guide grew up here and could tell us many things about everything from the fish to the rocks. He was careful and caring, and it was a wonderful experience to see this side of this beautiful country. I can highly recommend!

2 years agoWhat a great day. My 2 friends and I, and another couple, along with our guide Sam, explored the coast and several small caves for 2 hours. Beautiful caves, really only accessible with kayaks, then a stop at a beach. We had a perfect day, no wind or waves.

2 years agoAfter a short introduction to kayaking, we started at Ingrina Beach (very nice little beach) and headed out west visiting all the caves along the way. Our guide Fabio explained a lot about the rock formations and showed us nice secluded areas. The coast was not crowded at all (mid July, day was a bit overcast), mostly it was just our little group. The grottos / caves are amazing. After a small rest on a lonely beach, we headed back. Very nice experience with great guide. Absolute recommendation.
