In pure, wild nature. Close enough to the shop and accessible from the main road to explore the Algarve’s various attractions.
The space
Our roundhouse cottage is situated within the grounds of our family home, on 6.500m2 of rustic, rural land in the valley of boca do Rio. On the land we have two dogs, two cats and a multitude of free range chickens. Although the area where the cottage is situated is private and not overlooking, or overlooked by our family home, it is possible that you may meet somebody around on the land, be that human or animal. We are a welcoming and friendly family, and we are available should you need anything at all during your stay, but we will respect your space and privacy and we would appreciate the same from our guests.
Guest access
As our guests you will have a private access to the cottage from your parking space by the road, the cottage is up a small hill but is easily access able to almost any able bodied person. Unfortunately it is not easily accessible to people with physical disabilities. But we are very happy to answer your questions if you would like to discuss further accessibility options for your specific needs!

We are proud to offer a fully off grid experience, away from the noise, electronic devices and technology of the modern life.
Before booking your stay with us please note that That means that we use electricity responsibly, especially at night. It is advisable to charge devices like laptops during the day, And to turn off the lights and other electronics when not in use. we do not offer Wi-Fi. however the 4g signal is very good in the area.
We also use water from the well, so it’s very healthy and free from chemicals, but therefore it is NOT suitable for drinking. We advise purchasing water from the supermarket.
Additionally we utilise a compost toilet, which is a dry composting system. which is in a separate building adjacent to the cottage, featuring the toilet, and a hand washing basin.
