Ocean Quest is a standout choice for anyone wanting to experience the Algarve from the water, departing from the marina in Vilamoura. This boat tour agency delivers the classic coastline highlights—golden cliffs, dramatic rock formations, and sea caves—while adding the little touches that turn a good trip into a “best day of the holiday” kind of memory.
The route is a big part of the appeal. Travelers love cruising west along the coast past Albufeira, with plenty of time to take in the scenery and learn what you’re seeing. The crew are often described as genuinely warm and accommodating, with guides who keep the mood light, fun, and informative. Even if you’re seated toward the back, the team makes an effort to ensure everyone can hear the commentary and feel included—small detail, big difference.
Comfort matters at sea, and Ocean Quest is frequently chosen by guests looking for a larger boat experience with amenities like comfortable seating, an onboard toilet, and a bar. On top of that, the welcome drink and regional liqueur tastings add a relaxed, holiday vibe without feeling gimmicky. Tours can run around three and a half to four hours, which gives the day a spacious feel—often including time for a swim stop. If you’re traveling with kids or less confident swimmers, it’s reassuring to know the crew are attentive and ready with lifejackets when needed.
Wildlife moments can make a great cruise exceptional. Guests have reported close-up views of bottlenose dolphins and a crew that clearly cares about the ocean—right down to stepping in to help when wildlife is in trouble. Add in upbeat music on the way back and you’ve got a well-rounded experience that mixes scenery, comfort, and energy.
If you’re comparing options for boat tours in Vilamoura, Ocean Quest is an easy recommendation for travelers who want a polished, friendly operation, beautiful cave-and-cliff views, and the kind of crew that treats you like a guest—not a headcount.

4 months agoHad a fantastic trip along the coast from Vilamoura west past Albufeira. Saw amazing coastline rock formations and caves. Extremely knowledgeable (and funny and lovely) guide and great crew. Even saved a turtle that was injured on the way back. Lasted three and a half hours. Free welcome drink and couple of liqueur staff. 45 euros each and genuinely worth a lot more. Been on lots of boat trips. This was possibly the best ever. Absolutely tremendous 👏 👌 thanks to all x

4 months agoWe were looking for a bigger boat to do our boat trip on as we wanted a comfier seat, toilet, and a bar available. Our tour was brought forward by a couple of days due to bad weather, I think for this reason it was a pretty full boat. There was still space for everyone though. The people running the tour were really friendly, they spoke English and were very accommodating to all the passengers. The tour took a little longer than anticipated- coming up to 4 hours, which was not a bad thing. But we did have time to stop and have a swim. The staff even gave lifejackets to children and adults that wanted to swim but didn’t feel completely confident. One of the staff members was giving out some information at the front of the boat about where we were etc, I think someone fed back that we couldn’t hear him at the back of the boat. Then another staff member made sure to come to the back of the boat and give us the information too. It was a nice touch to have the drinks on arrival, and also try the regional liqueurs and some small snacks. On the way back we had some music playing, maybe we could have had the music playing the whole ride? Overall really recommend, I noticed the staff were also really good with children.

6 months agoGreat speedboat ride to the sea caves, and also close up views of a couple of pods of bottlenose dolphins, including 3 juvenile dolphins, who were just too adorable! Great boat pilot and tour guide.

9 months agoExcellent trip to Bengali caves. We really enjoyed it - fabulous afternoon. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable. Must give shout out and grateful thanks to Ema, working on bar, who especially helped me to balance whilst we viewed a pod of dolphins swimming around boat.(I'm in my 70's). What wonderful people. Would very much recommend Ocean Quest.

2 years agoWe enjoyed a lovely Benagil cave trip with Ocean Quest. Staff onboard were super helpful and speak multiple languages, very knowledgeable of the local area as expected. The boat was very clean and serves drinks/snacks if needed, plus we were able to get a really good view of the caves which other larger boats couldn’t. I’d thoroughly recommend Ocean Quest for a great day out on the waves, we had a great time!
