Our home is a brand-new, freshly renovated space redesigned with not only esthetics in mind, but also comfort, quality, functionality, and most importantly your well-being.
The space
Our summer home is a two-floor, one bedroom townhouse within the old walls of Lagos’ historic district. A central yet quiet location.
Located a mere 100 meters (2-minute walk) from the pedestrian-only streets of old town, 500 meters (5-minute walk) from Lagos’ marina’s promenade, and 750 meters (10-minute walk) to the nearest beach, Praia da Batata, our Casa Albahr offers you the perfect location to enjoy all that Lagos has to offer with all the convenience and comfort.
This south-facing townhouse has lots of natural light. The sun-soaked bedroom and balcony upstairs receive sunlight all day unobstructed by the neighboring buildings even in the winter when the sun is lower on the horizon. Our balcony with views to the old walls is an ideal place to have your morning coffee or sunset wine without missing the precious sunshine you came to Lagos for.
Everything in our home is designed to offer you comfort to your body and senses. The quality of the amenities is complemented by a space pleasantly designed with soft tones, pastel pallete, and displays of local art and crafts. We are also honored to feature the work of our dear friend and talented artist Ana Espinosa, a U.S.-based Mexican artist whose abstract art and practice, in her own words, “are offered with the intention as you breathe love back in to your life, not as a fleeting moment, but as a living state.”
The layout: On the ground floor you find an open space with a cozy living room equipped with a sofa-bed. with a smart TV with cable channels, a dining area that seats three people, a modern kitchen with brand new appliances, and a very special corner with our “indoor patio” under the staircase. This area was designed to reflect the original layout of the original house where the space used to be an outdoor patio. This space is equipped with a rocking chair, super cozy rug, reading lamp, photo books, Portuguese poetry books, and local art. It can be your reflection or reading corner, your refuge at the end of a busy day exploring.
Walking up the staircase to the first floor you’ll find our ensuite bedroom, with and elegantly designed, fully equipped and very spacious bathroom. The bedroom is equipped with a super king bed dressed with super comfortable mattress. From the bedroom you can walk out to the balcony through one of the two floor-to-ceiling doors.
The house has two air-conditioning/heat units: one in the open space, living area downstairs, and one in the bedroom to assure the comfort of your stay during all the seasons.
