Terrace Views, Live Music & Seafood Worth Dressing Up For

BJ’s Oceanside is one of those places in Quarteira that feels like an event—not just a meal. Set right by the ocean at Praia do Almargem, it’s famous for its upstairs outdoor seating where the views stretch across the sea and surf. If you can book a spot on the terrace, you’re in for a sunset backdrop that turns dinner into a memory.

The kitchen delivers big, generous plates that match the setting. Guests often describe the food as delicious, fresh, and carefully prepared, with portions that feel notably abundant. Seafood lovers, in particular, will appreciate the confident handling of fish—right down to thoughtful table-side touches like having it expertly filleted for you, so you can simply relax and enjoy. Flavors are described as bright and zesty, with a level of care that’s hard to miss once the plates arrive.

Service is a major part of what makes the experience shine. The team is frequently mentioned as friendly, welcoming, and genuinely engaged—approaching with a smile, offering helpful guidance, and keeping the evening running smoothly even when the restaurant is buzzing. It’s the kind of hospitality that makes you want to return for birthdays, family visits, and “let’s go somewhere special” nights.

And then there’s the atmosphere: live music, a lively crowd, and the kind of energy that makes people linger. Diners talk about nights where the band, the sunset, and the room’s vibe come together perfectly—creating something that feels like a celebration even if you just came for dinner.

For anyone searching oceanfront dining in Quarteira, BJ’s Oceanside is a standout for terrace views, top-tier hospitality, and fresh seafood served in a setting you’ll be talking about long after the last song ends.

Incredible sunset view and vibe with extremely friendly staff. Food menu was great for variety of fish options but variable in quality. For the price, some of the dishes were overcooked and lacking in flavour but overall a fair experience with the location.

Our absolute favourite restaurant in Quarteira, Portugal. Expensive but huge portions, fabulous chef, delicious and fresh. Can't beat the upstairs outdoor seating for magnificent views of the sea and surf. Don't miss it!!
