AlgarveBySegway offers a fun, surprisingly smooth way to explore Faro and the surrounding landscapes. As a local tour operator, they’re known for creating experiences that feel both adventurous and approachable—especially for first-timers. You’ll get set up with safety gear, a clear tutorial, and the confidence boost you need before heading out along scenic routes that showcase the Algarve’s natural side.
One of the standout experiences is the Segway tour through the Ria Formosa Natural Park area. Guests consistently describe guides as friendly and informative, with plenty of stops to point out wildlife and explain what makes the ecosystem special. Expect relaxed pauses for photos, questions, and taking it all in—whether you’re rolling past salt pans, open stretches of nature, or viewpoints where you can really appreciate the space around you. Many visitors love that guides also capture photos and videos along the way, so you don’t have to juggle your phone while you’re getting the hang of the ride.
If you’re looking for something extra memorable, timing your ride near sunset can transform the whole outing. The warm light over the landscape makes the scenery feel cinematic, and it’s an easy way to turn an active tour into a genuinely special moment. Segways are also quicker to learn than most people expect—groups of mixed ages often get comfortable fast with the guide’s coaching, making it a great option for families and friends who want to do something different together.
For travellers who want more than a standard walking tour, AlgarveBySegway delivers a fresh perspective on Faro—blending Segway tours, nature spotting, and local storytelling into an experience that’s as enjoyable as it is photogenic.

5 months agoA fantastic tour with José through the amazing Natural da Ria Formosa park. Our guide met us at the carpark just south of the airport. Was friendly and informative. We were set up with helmets and settled on our segways, we were given a quick tutorial on how to use the segways then off we went, José did a great job explaining the history and nature of the area. With stops to see the abundant wildlife. There was plenty of opportunity to enjoy the area and the ride with stops to chat and ask any questions we may have had. Also took in the golf course and the salt pans. José also took plenty of pictures and videos which meant we could focus on enjoying the tour. Would definitely recommend, especially if you can time it with sunset because it made it extra special to be buzzing through the scenery with the setting sun.

11 months agoThis is 5/5 for an amazing experience. The tour takes you from the top of Foia mountain, the highest in South Portugal, all the way to the bottom. It feels almost like floating down through the most beautiful landscape with views across the entire Algarve as far as Portimao. We found the Segway controls fairly intuitive to learn, although I think the experts probably know techniques we didn't even touch on. You even get to sample the Monchique water from fountains along the way (the water has been tested for safety!) Having given 5/5 because this is just the sort of experience I love, and I hope lots of other people get to experience it, I have to add some details. This is not a tour for everyone. The mountain roads are shared with all other users: cars, motorbikes, bicycles, vans. The roads are quiet and very beautiful, but it's still not for the faint hearted. Additionally, we took our 8-year-old son. He has been cycling with us for many years on roads with traffic, and so has a lot of road sense. It was just him with two adults and the tour guide, so we were also able to keep a close eye on him. He did really well and had the experience of a lifetime. He's so made up, he hasn't stopped talking about it since. BUT I wouldn't have trusted most of his peers on the same trip as they don't have the same level of ingrained road sense, and some of them stop listening to instructions when they get excited, which would be really dangerous on a trip like this.

8 months agoMy First Segway Tour was Gr8! A Segway tour of Ria Farmosa Natural Park in Faro included Birdwatching. The Tour Guides Nelson & Joe taught all 12 members in my group age 15-70 how to ride in 5 minutes. I was a bit nervous at first and felt unstable but loosened up quickly and did my thing! They guided us along a bike path into an area to roll out and get comfortable with the skills they taught us. Safe distancing and balancing was the key. US Divas In Portugal 2025🔥🔥🔥🔥

7 months agoGreat communications with Nelson, fantastic! The tour was spot on, our guide showed us some natural beauties that I hadn’t seen before even though I’ve been visiting the region for 30 years.

2 years agoHi Nelson, thank you very much for the beautiful Natural tour today with Andre. He is very good at his work, very calm and professional in his approach. My to do list is complete, I return home with a great smile knowing I have achieved what I wanted to do in Faro. I will definitely recommend your service to my colleagues. I will be back again.
