Tasquinha Do Carvalho is a friendly, easygoing restaurant where good food and genuine hospitality are the main attraction. Set along Estr. das Açoteias in Albufeira, it’s the sort of spot you’ll want to keep in your back pocket for relaxed lunches and unhurried dinners—especially if you like Portuguese-style small plates and seafood done right.
The menu offers plenty of choice, so it works well whether you’re after a simple bite or a table full of dishes to share. Seafood fans tend to have a great time here: the snails are a popular starter, served generously, and the cuttlefish (often called “choco”) earns special praise for its flavor and texture. If you like to graze, there are also fish options that are perfect for picking at alongside a drink and good conversation.
Not in a seafood mood? You’re still covered. Guests often mention easy, satisfying plates like a chicken wrap or a fresh tuna salad, plus lighter options such as octopus salad that feel spot-on for a warm day in the Algarve. The best part is how the team helps you navigate the choices—service is consistently described as welcoming, attentive, and happy to accommodate, without ever making it feel complicated.
Overall, this is a restaurant that gets the basics exactly right: a comfortable setting, dependable cooking, and staff who treat you like a regular. If you’re exploring the area and want a casual meal with Portuguese seafood, a friendly local restaurant feel, and a menu that offers something for everyone, Tasquinha Do Carvalho is an easy recommendation in Albufeira.

4 months agoGood roadside restaurant. Easy to park. The food is very good and the service is very pleasant. Too bad the sardines were no longer available. I settled for the small fried sardines.
